Koda Kumi worst work ..ever

the new video "Hot Stuff" is very good but if you had watched the video "GET RIGHT" (Jennifer Lopez) you'll find out the coat she wear looks like Jenny's in her video >_<
just to say , her song sound like Ciara's song and the title almost the same with Ciara's song : HOT STUFF ~ GOODIES
the worst work ever , does she had no creation for the new single / PV ?

I didn't think there was anything creative about Kumi Koda. I thought she just ripped ideas off from a bunch of American pop/hiphop singers =P she certainly has a huge "influence" from Christina Aguilera.

What I don't like about her is that her attitude is always the same no matter what kind of song she's singing. I think she shouldn't keep the sexy provocative attitude when singing a love ballad for example. I'd like her to try new things. But I like her.

the Hot Stuff PV is the Japanese version of Christina Aguilera's "Dirrty" and I'm really disappointed Koda Kumi gave up on her old music style, which I really preferred. [PVs included]

Well I explained this at length in a thread at Jpopmusic.com's forum, but for the record I fully agree that Koda Kumi is one of the more unoriginal artists nowadays. I think she's become tasteless, but it does help her sell albums. secret sold better than all of her three previous albums, so I do think that it appeals to a part of the public. In my opinion, once she got a little fame from her 1000 no Kotoba song, she went downhill because she adopted the super-skinny & ultra-slutty style. Koda Kumi sells sex, and sex is gladly bought by a lot of people. Look at the secret DVD, there's no one video where's she not being slutty.

Agree with the part of "but it does help her sell albums." I like Koda but it makes me angry that she has sold almost the same than Mika nakashima for example, whose album is amazing. Anyway, it's not like Koda is the only singer who sells because of her image.

I think Shake It was more like Christina's Dirrty.... However, I have yet to see Hot Stuff

I think she's doing fine. There is a difference between her and other artists who sell sex. She can actually sing.

Yea, I immediately thought of the J-Lo jacket. However, I don't think this is her worst work by far. I hated the album before this...there were maybe 3 good songs. I really like the song Hot Stuff and the video is cute/fun. I've never thought of her as terribly original, so I guess I'm not as upset.

ok , here's what I think :

- the Hot Stuff PV is great , her coreography is very original and she looks great. I personally don't thinkg her jacket is a rip-off from J-lo's , it's just a popular and fashionable type of jacket. koda's jacket is different color and different material , different enough so it's clearly not a copy. She's not ripping of Xtina in that PV , it's not like the "fightscene" scene was an original idea from Xtina anyways. I've seen similar fightscenes on music videos way before Dirrty

- her public image is very unique and original in J-pop , and I think it's great how she doesn't go for that "cute" or plain "boring" image like all the rest lol

- I think the reason why "Secret" has sold best out of her albums is because it's her best album so far and it has had tons of promotion. come on , there's barely any songs withouth PVs on it

C'mon, you can see almost everything, what's the difference then between wearing something and nothing? But she has a great voice, if she just wear some more clothes, people don't make clothes without a meaning.

every artist has their good and bad moments to each of our own opinions. it's not all such a big deal anyways. just let their songs/voice redeem themselves. if the song sucks AND they look silly, then oh well better luck next time.

There's a huge difference between something and nothing. Or else it wouldn't be a big deal when somebody goes out there with nothing.

She has a relatively original style for a Japanese pop artist, so I really don't know what most of you are talking about. Comparing her to American artists is really slanted, especially when you take into consideration the fact that most Japanese and Korean artists are heavily influenced by American artists.

As far as the sex thing, I don't have a problem with it at all. If that's what she wants, then that's fine. To front as if every artist doesn't use their looks, to further their image, is retarded and short sighted. What other reason is there for "attractive" artists to be taking so many pictures? And for "ugly" artists to hardly take any? Why wear makeup? Why wear nice clothes? If you get that deep into it, the semantic laced debates can continue forever.

And i'm not even a huge Koda Kumi fan.

I just saw the PV, was quite enjoyable both the dance off and the fighting choreography. Of course it obviously resembled the Dirrty video but I don't see a problem with that. In fact I prefer HOT STUFF to Dirrty and found Dirrty worse if not sluttier and, well, dirty. I'm not a hardcore fan, but Koda isn't afraid to "shake it" if you will. I don't have a problem with her wardrobe either. It's just her way of doing things.

I think Koda Kumi should tone down a bit.... I think that she was better before Crazy 4 U, it was a great song, but I think thats the PV is where all the "slutsiness" began (sorry for my harsh words)

She's known by most people as Japan's version of "Christina Aguilera"...
But I disagree... I believe that she's unique and different... If she tried to be cute or something then everyone would be like 'she's copying ayu'....
Her music is awesome!! And her voice is great, its in a different vocal range to other singers so she stands out!!
Secret was her best album because all of the songs on it are great!!!!!!

I reckon shes a great singer and that people are just judging her on her image... If you actually listen to her music you'll soon realise how awesome her music and style is...
And that note about how all her PVs are slutty in Secret.... I disagree!!
Hands wasn't slutty, it was an awesome PV.. and also Chase, 24 and Trust You aren't slutty as well....
People are just generalising when they see her PVs such as Selfish, Shake It etc....
